As son of a photographer my father always took me with him on his wedding shoots. There I was, a 12 year old holding my first camera and innocently taking snapshots of a happy couple. Some years later I discovered a box with editions of the French ‘Photo’ magazine in our attic. A mmmh experience for a teenager with his hormones running wild. But although ‘Photo’ is still on my reading list, I’m not into portraits.

With a Master in Product design and a postgraduate in Multimedia and Virtual Reality I kicked-off a ‘career’ in digital communication and advertising working for Agency.com, Saatchi & Saatchi Brussels and Boondoggle.

During 14 years I kept a focus on my agency work, keeping my semi-professional photography activities for my spare-time. But at the age of 38 I decided to limit my time in communication agencies and moved into a career as freelance photographer.

Today I focus on environmental, conservation, landscape and documentary photography.

I strongly believe that photography can be a mirror helping us understand the beauty around us and the need to protect it.

I’m open for assignments. So feel free to get in contact.

Erik, mooie foto’s! En indd, zo waar: “photography can be a mirror helping us understand the beauty around us and the need to protect it”

Prachtige foto’s!
